Barbara Lee builds powerful grassroots support for U.S. Senate run with key progressive PAC endorsement
In a landslide vote, the Progressive Democrats of America endorse Rep. Lee as uniquely qualified to serve in U.S. Senate
LOS ANGELES, CA — Today, the Progressive Democrats of America (PDA), a grassroots PAC that operates both within the Democratic Party and in outside advocacy efforts, announced its overwhelming endorsement for Congresswoman Barbara Lee in her run for U.S. Senate. Rep. Lee’s moral fortitude and lifelong commitment to justice domestically and abroad earned her a strong majority of the PDA California membership’s support.
“There’s no one in the U.S. Senate currently with Barbara Lee’s track record when it comes to fighting for poor, working, and middle class communities of color—let alone the whole architecture of U.S. structural racism,” said Alan Minsky, PDA Executive Director. “On all the issues that PDA advocates for, and all of the legislation that PDA promotes, Barbara Lee either supports or leads!”
Founded in 2004, the Progressive Democrats of America roots its advocacy and organizing efforts in the universal values of human dignity, justice and respect, and stewardship of the planet. Rep. Lee’s climate advocacy, including introduction of the Environmental Justice for All Act, commitment to universal healthcare, and acclaimed anti-war record are among the priorities and accomplishments that align with PDA’s goals.
“The Progressive Democrats of America have always worked hand in hand to build a bold vision for our country, and prioritized community-centered organizing to deliver it,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I’m thrilled to have the endorsement and trust of PDA to bring that fight to the Senate.”
The announcement comes on the heels of another critical grassroots endorsement from the Alice B. Toklas LGBTQ Democratic Club – the oldest registered LGBTQ Democratic Club in the country.
