New video: Barbara Lee’s calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza reminiscent of her sole vote against authorizing use of force after 9/11

The video released by the progressive candidate’s Senate campaign displays Rep. Lee’s continued courage and leadership on global peace and security

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A week out from the election, the Barbara Lee for Senate campaign released a new video that highlights Lee’s continued call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza as the pathway to lasting peace and security in the region.

The moving minidoc emphasizes Congresswoman Lee’s unwavering courage and commitment to diplomacy-driven foreign policy decisions, drawing a direct line from her historic vote as the sole member of Congress to vote against the war in Afghanistan to her early support for a ceasefire in Gaza. Today, she remains the only candidate in the race for Senate to call for an unconditional, permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are seen in the video praising Lee’s courageous stand in 2001 and how she had the instinct and hindsight to do what was right.

Congresswoman Lee has been ranked as the most effective member of the 117th Congress in the area of International Affairs, and has a long record of leading on anti-war efforts in Washington.
