U.S. Palestinian Council (USPC) endorses Barbara Lee for U.S. Senate

OAKLAND, CA — Today, the U.S. Palestinian Council (USPC) Board of Directors proudly declared their endorsement of Barbara Lee for U.S. Senate. The USPC cited Rep. Lee’s courageous leadership and continued advocacy for diplomacy-led solutions for global peace and security, including her early call for a permanent, unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.

“Representative Lee was among the first in Congress to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and continues to lead efforts for a de-escalation of violence and diplomatic solutions for peace, equality, and security in the region,” said Prof. John Dabeet, President of US Palestinian Council. “ As a national organization, the US Palestinian Council (USPC) aims to represent, educate, and advocate on issues of concern to Palestinian Americans, strengthen ties between the US and Palestine, and push forward a vision based on liberty, justice, and human rights for all.”

The endorsement from USPC, a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization representing and advocating for issues vital to Palestinian Americans, is the latest endorsement supporting Congresswoman Lee’s early and ongoing advocacy for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza. Lee has continued to call for an immediate, permanent ceasefire, to end further civilian suffering and death, to return the hostages, and to advance diplomatic solutions that uphold equality and security for Palestinians and Israelis alike.

“We are witnessing a humanitarian crisis in Gaza and unfolding violence in the West Bank — and for Palestinian Americans, that crisis amounts to family members, friends, and an extended community being killed, injured, displaced, left without food and water,” said Congresswoman Barbara Lee. “Even in the face of heartbreak and loss, the US Palestinian Council bravely leads with a commitment of peace and equality. I deeply appreciate their endorsement, and will bring our shared fight for self-determination, peace, and security to the U.S. Senate.”

USPC’s announcement closely follows the second televised debate between the leading candidates for U.S. Senate, with Congresswoman Lee reiterating her stance as the sole candidate calling for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.
