Influential Former State Party Chair Advocates for Barbara Lee

OAKLAND, CA — Longtime California Democratic Party Chair John Burton is asking Democratic Party delegates in California to support Barbara Lee for U.S. Senate, according to a letter released today by the Lee campaign. 

“I’ve called Barbara a friend for nearly three decades and I can speak firsthand to her ability to get things done – because I’ve seen her do it,” wrote Burton, who not only served as Chair of the California Democratic Party from 2009-2017, but was also elected to the California State Assembly, California State Senate and United States Congress during his distinguished career. “We can trust her to deliver because, while many candidates talk about getting results, Barbara actually does it.”
