Orange County progressives support Barbara Lee for U.S. Senate

Influential Grassroots Group OC Action Endorses Congresswoman’s Campaign

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — OC Action, one of Orange County’s most influential grassroots organizations, has endorsed Congresswoman and leading progressive candidate for U.S. Senate Barbara Lee, the Lee campaign announced today.

“Barbara Lee is a champion – an effective and proven fighter for underrepresented people and for justice for everyone,” said Jonathan Paik, Executive Director of OC Action. “Our organization was founded to build progressive power, and nothing can be more important to that mission than electing progressive champions. We are very proud to endorse Congresswoman Barbara Lee for United States Senate.”

OC Action was launched in 2017 to build an alliance between AAPI, Latinx, labor and environmental justice communities as a means of developing progressive political power in Orange County. The organization’s founding was the result of decades of community organizing and integrated voter engagement in the region, and OC Action is committed to a long-term progressive transformation of the electorate in their communities.

“OC Action has helped AAPI, Latinx and progressive communities come together to create massive shifts in the political landscape of Orange County, and I am honored that they are joining our growing team of progressives throughout California who will work to fight for progressive change and economic, climate and racial justice in California,” said Congresswoman Lee. “We have important work ahead of us, and I am very grateful for OC Action’s endorsement in this race.”

OC Action is now part of a rapidly growing grassroots coalition working to elect Congresswoman Lee.
