Alameda County Building and Construction Trades endorses Congresswoman Barbara Lee for U.S. Senate

The powerful coalition of 28 affiliated unions throws its support behind Lee for her decades-long record of championing workers’ rights

Los Angeles, CA – Today, Congresswoman and U.S. Senate candidate Barbara Lee announced she has been endorsed by the Building and Construction Trades Council of Alameda County.

The Building and Construction Trades Council of Alameda County Is a coalition of 28 affiliated unions representing approximately 40,000 workers in various construction trades who live and work in the County.

“Congresswoman Lee has never backed down from standing up for working men and women,” said Andreas Culver, the Secretary-Treasurer for the Building Trades Council of Alameda County. “We know that in the U.S. Senate she will continue to be a champion for labor and be the voice we need to deliver pro-labor policies, empower workers, and rebuild our economy. We are honored to endorse her.”

“I’m honored to have the support of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Alameda County,” said Lee. “I know that building a stronger economy starts with creating more good-paying union jobs and ensuring our workers have the power to negotiate for better conditions in the workplace and to hold corporations accountable when they don’t. I have always stood beside my union brothers and sisters in Congress and I will never stop being a voice for them in the U.S. Senate.”
